[It's no relief to know that they're once again stuck in a perpetual cycle of needing to kill in order to survive, but if only for an evening, they should be able to relax and take their mind off matters beyond their control.
That's why Noah has sought Mio out and taken her to the theater, curious about what these "movies" have to offer and hopeful that watching one together will do them a bit of good.]
I'm not sure what to make of these titles. "Blazing Saddles 2: Electric Boogaloo"? What about the first Blazing Saddles?
[Noah stares at the listed titles with a furrowed brow.]
[While the others are (presumably) throwing a party in the theater in anticipation of yet another person's impending death, Noah is stood by the sandy shore with his head lost amongst the clouds.
Noah's lost track of time. He could track it via the passage of the sun in the sky, the weather turning from warm and balmy to a mild and a bit windy, but it doesn't occur to him to do that. The passage of time doesn't matter in this moment, his control over it out of his hands so long as they remain under the control of their captors.
He hears footsteps approach him. Some part of Noah acknowledges that he's no longer alone, but he still startles when he turns to find Mio there, his reverie forgotten in favor of her.]
...Ah. Hey, Mio. [Noah sounds noticeably subdued. Just a little.] Why aren't you at the party?
[As predicted, the comforting heat of the spa bath did eventually overwhelm her, though Mio was happy to soak in bliss until she was too flushed to go on. Looking more cooked lobster than human, she leads Noah by the hand up the stairs to the second floor, bringing them to a group of lounge chairs sequestered behind a small jungle of plants. Mio takes a seat on one chair but nests herself into the far left of it, leaving enough room for him to fit in alongside her if that's what he wants. She still needs to both dry off and cool down.]
You can really see the stars from up here. I wonder how close they are to ours; maybe we're all under the same ones, impossible as that would be. That's kind of comforting... to think that no matter where we are, the stars connect us.
[She'd seen Nine enjoying himself (even played a bit of music for him) and then spotted him wandering off. Mio thinks Corpse Flower will be quiet for a while yet.
After nearly breaking down in the middle of the dancefloor, both she and Noah need the quiet. Something as dark and rupturing as an annihilation event simmers somewhere inside him, and though she saw it recede while they danced together, she isn't taking any chances now.
So they sneak back to the farmhouse while everyone in attendance is still partying the night away to hide away in her bedroom, the sunrise painted on the wall from the very first week shining over them. They do also unfortunately have to look at the zebra.
Ostensibly, it's to talk about writing music using the theory book she received from Sora, but she suspects they have other things that need to be discussed first. That's probably why she's so nervous.]
